Ingredients:
1 cup Moong Daal (split or whole green gram with skin)
1 cup grated coconut
7-8 dried red chillies
1 cup chopped bread fruit
1 tsp mustard seeds
5-6 Curry leaves
Salt to taste
1 tbsp oil
Preparation:
Boil the moong daal along with bread fruit pieces. If you have frozen bread fruit, don't add it at this point.
In a pan, slightly fry the dried red chillies for about 2 mins on low flame.
Grind grated coconut and fried red chillies to a fine paste(masala). Add water as required while grinding.
Add the masala and bread fruit pieces now (if you have taken frozen one) into the moong daal mixture and bring it to a boil. Add salt to taste and mix well.
In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, When they start to splutter, add curry leaves and fry for few secs. Add this to the boiling mixture and continue cooking for about 5-10 mins.
Dish is now ready to be served.
