1/2 onion finely chopped
1/4 cabbage finely chopped(1 cup or more)
1 cup rice
1/4 cup Toor Daal
1/2 cup grated coconut
5-7 dried red chillies
1/4 cup water
Salt to taste
Oil

Method-
Soak rice and toor daal overnight or atleast 4-5 hours.
Roast the dried red chillies slightly for 2 mins in few drops of oil.
Grind the fried chillies, grated coconut, rice, toor daal and salt. Add little water while grinding to get a thick paste.Do not add more water as we want the mixture to be a thick paste. Keep this aside.
Add the chopped onions and cabbage in the batter.
Heat oil in a pan. Make small balls out of the mixture and fry them in oil on medium flame, until cooked.
Cabbage vada is now ready to be served as a side dish along with rice or as a starter.
